Yoeme Ojo de Cabra
Phaselous vulgaris. Small beige bean with brown lines, hence “goat’s eye.” Can be eaten green or as a dry bean. From Vicam, a traditional Yoeme village in coastal Sonora. Traditionally planted in January and harvested in May but can be planted in the spring after the threat of frost, or with the summer monsoon in the low desert. Late-maturing, high-yielding pole bean.
