Santo Domingo Native
Cucumis melo. Also collected from Santo Domingo Pueblo, these are typical of the “native” melons grown for centuries in the pueblos of New Mexico. The fruit are oblong, ribbed, and have predominantly smooth skin. Some netting or “cracking” occurs. The flesh is orange and tasty. From our Seed-Bank Collection.
