Pima Club

Triticum aestivum. Grown by the Pima on the Gila River Reservation since the 1800s. Seed heads are short, beardless and club shaped (flattened). White kernels are soft and produce flour used for cookies and pastry. For areas with mild winter climates, Pima Club is planted and sprouts in the fall and winter, from approximately November to January and harvested in May or June before the onset of the summer rains. Plant in the spring in other areas. A single packet of wheat seeds will plant a 3 ft x 3 ft with a dense stand of wheat. An 8 oz packet of seed will be enough to cover a 35 ft x 35 ft (1225 sq ft) plot. Larger areas should use a seeding rate of 70-100 lbs per acre. From our Seed-Bank Collection.

  • Origin: low desert, 1191′ elevation
  • A cool season crop
  • Approx. 28g/700 seeds per packet
  • Limit 3 packets.
