Cucurbita moschata. Beautiful light-orange pumpkin-shaped fruits with shallow ribs and bright orange flesh. Can grow quite large with irrigation, like large carving pumpkins, though too much irrigation can dilute the flavor. From a roadside stand run by a Mexican family in Mesilla, west of Las Cruces in southern New Mexico. This is a Mexican type squash, rare in New Mexico. From our Seed Bank Collection.
