Description
Kitt Peak Wild Tepary
Phaseolus acutifolius var. tenuifolius. From Kitt Peak in the Baboquivari Mountains of the Tohono O’odham Reservation. By far the highest-elevation collection of wild teparies in our collection. Readily reseeds, pods will easily “pop” open when dry. Much smaller than domesticated teparies, but a fun exploration of agricultural history and wild plant conservation. Before planting, scarify seeds by sanding the seed coat lightly to allow water to penetrate. From our Seed-Bank Collection.
- Origin: High Desert
- Habit: Plant will twine and climb
- Approx. 1g/50 seeds per packet.
