Saguaro Harvest

This handwoven polychrome basket is by Laura Pablo and measures approximately 9.25 inches in diameter and 1.5 inch deep. 

Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving. The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the white stitches (weft) woven around the coils are sun-bleached Soaptree Yucca, the green stitching used for the Saguaro and figures is unbleached Soaptree Yucca. The black material used in the design and around the edge is Devil’s Claw pod. The red material used for the saguaro fruit is red yucca root, a rare material.

Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
