Mayo Winter Bean
Cicer arietinum. This variety was collected in the early 1990’s and came from near Navajoa in Sonora. It is associated with the Mayo people, and is used to make the savory stew Wakabaki. From our Seed Bank Collection.
- Origin: Low Desert
- Plant in January-February in the low desert, or in early spring in cooler climates.
- Prefers well drained soil and arid climates.
- Approx. 10g/ 25 seeds per packet.
