Mayo Guegui
Amaranthus cruentus. Mayo Grain. A gorgeous amaranth from the Mayo in Alamos, Sonora. Bright fuschia inflorescences and stems, and dark green or red leaves. The leaves are used as quelites (greens). Seeds are used for esquites (parched), pinole and atole (traditional Mexican drinks). From our Seed Bank Collection.
