Garbanzo del Norte
Cicer arietinum. From farmers in Vadito in Taos County, New Mexico. Though they come from a high elevation, these plants also do well in the low desert if planted in fall or late winter. Beans are larger than some of the others in our collection. From our Seed Bank Collection.
- Origin: High Desert, at about 8000′.
- Plant in fall through early-February in the low desert, or in early spring in cooler climates.
- Prefers well drained soil and arid climates. Doesn’t like transplanting.
- Approx. 9g/ 25 seeds per packet.
